CEREC, which stands for Chairside Economical Restorations of Esthetic Ceramics, utilizes CAD/CAM (computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing) technology to create your custom crown while you wait. Your tooth still needs to be prepared, but rather than taking an impression with putty; we take a digital impression of your mouth. The image then shows up on our computer monitor. Using specialized software, we can custom design a perfectly fitting crown that will blend in seamlessly with the rest of your natural teeth. Once we have finished designing your crown, the information is then sent to a milling machine, where your crown is created. Once it is finished, we are then able to cement it in place.
