Get a New Tooth in One Visit

Dental implants are the latest addition to replacing missing teeth, providing an alternative to the traditional options of bridges, partial dentures, and even full dentures. While they require surgery for placement, the benefits they provide far exceed the procedure. Following surgery, you would typically be provided with temporary teeth to use until you heal, and even after healing it would still take a few weeks more before you ever saw your permanent teeth. At Boones Landing Dental Center, we have eliminated this wait with same day teeth.

What are Dental Implants?

Dental implants consist of small titanium rods, which are surgically inserted into your jawbone. As you heal, the bone fuses with the titanium, a process known as osseointegration. This process turns the rods into “roots” that then support your replacement teeth. Implants are highly customizable. We offer a variety of different implants to meet your specific needs:

•  Single tooth implants. These types of implants replace a single missing tooth anywhere in your mouth.
•  Multiple tooth implants. Also called implant supported bridges, these types of implants are used to replace sections of missing teeth.
•  Implant supported dentures. These types of implants are used to replace an entire arch of missing teeth, whether in your top jaw, your bottom jaw, or even both.

Same Day Teeth with CEREC

Normally, after undergoing surgery for the placement of your dental implants, you would be provided with a set of temporary teeth. These teeth stay in place during the entire healing process, which can take several weeks to several months, depending upon how many implants you receive. Then, once you have healed, the process for getting your permanent teeth begins. Abutments are placed on the ends of the implants and impressions are taken of your mouth. The impressions are sent to a lab, where it can take up to two weeks for your permanent teeth to be made. During this time, you continue to wear your temporary teeth. While temporary teeth can restore some of the functions of your missing teeth, they are not the same as your permanent replacement teeth.

Thanks to our in-office CEREC technology, we can provide you with your permanent replacement teeth the same day as your implant surgery. Using CEREC’s CAD/CAM (computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing) technology, we take digital impressions of your mouth the same day as your surgery. The digital impressions show up on a computer screen, which allows us to design your customized replacement teeth. The exact 1:1 measurements provided by the impressions help us to create a perfect fit. Once we have designed your replacement teeth, the information is then sent to our milling unit, where your teeth are then created. As soon as your surgery is over, we can affix your teeth in place. You leave your implant surgery with a set of beautiful, fully functioning, permanent teeth.

Benefits of Same Day Teeth

The benefits of same day teeth are the same as with any other type of dental implants. They provide a permanent solution for tooth loss and restore all of the functions of your missing teeth. They are more comfortable and easier to care for. Implants also help to maintain the strength of your jawbone. The biggest benefit of same day teeth, however, is that you leave the office with your permanent replacement teeth.

Thanks to CEREC technology, you can leave your dental implant surgery with your permanent replacement teeth. If you have suffered tooth loss, and are interested in dental implants and same day teeth, contact Boones Landing Dental Center today at (503) 601-0610.
